So if you're white and don't speak as if you were educated at Eton, you're a benefit scrounger by default.
The sheer venom and class hatred from the bitter Remainers is all too evident.
What the fuck you cunts are doing supporting West Ham is beyond me.

"I don't buy all this talk about people not having opportunity to better themselves in this country. Everyone can go to school, anyone can pick up a book for free from a library and fucking better themselves but these lazy slob cunts want it on a plate. I have no time for that at all. I hope we start nailing down benefits in the coming recession to get some of these wasters off their fucking arses. Then there won't be such a demand for the foreign labour that these dirty cunts are so frightened of. What a fucking mess this country is right now."

Bang on mate!

Are you refering to people on Canvey?

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
Make you right Vexed, there's a bunch in society who look to take more than they contribute. In amongst them there are genuine cases that need a hand though.

I also think there are a number of takers who don't contribute a fair share at the rich end of the scale.

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
I agree Sven, there seems to always be a % who want something for nothing, it's a tricky problem for the government coz it's hard to pick who's who.
40% youth unemployment is criminal, long term effect on them is more than just missing out on a few years pay

Always had a soft spot for Canvey, mum and dad moved there in 1977 from Plaistow, best move they made.
Beeb never learn do they, alienated folk for years with their snotty take on white van man and still carry on after the result the Beeb didn't want comes in.

Up the Islanders!

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
I am all in favour of breaking down the barriers and giving opportunity to people to better themselves educationally & in work. I have always said that the best argument for leaving the European Union is that it is a body that seems to think 40% youth unemployment is a price worth paying. Personally I think that is a catastrophic situation & should be the number one priority to fix.

Just that a lot of the reaction I have seen seems to be people saying immigrants are getting free stuff and I want it instead.
Maybe that's just the media coverage.

I'm not saying give everyone a free ride, just in my view I think it's Understandable why theyre angry.
We could say they're stupid/ selfish but in a democracy an angry vote on this scale could be evidence that the country isn't giving everyone a fair deal.

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
This vote "shouldn't" be about selfishness,
Britain is more and more unequal between haves and have nots. The game is heavily stacked against the have nots and getting worse.
Democracy everyone gets a vote. If they're angry and haven't been represented it's understandable that people vote this way.

Imo

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
Many reports I have seen have been similar people hoping for a 'better deal' ie more money spent on THEM.
No mention of where this money is coming from or what contribution they will be making to that.
There will be more taxes & less spending.
We might even have some of this AUSTERITY that people have been bemoaning but that given government borrowing has been increasing hasn't even started.

The "great unwashed" were pissed off (rightly). I'd love to think this vote will change our politics for the better so that the "great unwashed" get a better deal.

Doubt it though

Lots of sneering from middle classes and establishment at the audacity of the "great unwashed" to not vote the way they were supposed to :-)

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
My old man told us about 10 years or so ago that castle Point district council had taken a back hander from Hackney council about taking some of their `residents' off their hands... caused an uproar... talk of road blocks and all sorts... all simmered down ....ended up Southend council taking the back hander and moving them all in down Hamlet Ct Road in Westcliff... I think people on Rock compare it to the Alamo...

Re: BBC visit Canvey Island.
I have to say that was a bit of a BBC stitch up, but you also have acknowledge that almost all those type of 'simple' folk across the country voted to Leave. So don't get too snobby about it, you share the same political views.

I guess he just knew, NS
Might have been the posters of chunky thighed rugby players on your bedroom wall.
Or asking for a mint & lemon tutu for your ballet classes for your 7th birthday.
